David is considered one of the most distinguished filmmakers of his generation. It all started when his college film George Washington garnered 'Best First Film' from the New York Film Critics Circle.
Over the years David has amassed enviable critical acclaim as a director, writer, and producer and is regarded for his confidence and creative ambition. His credits range from hit comedies Pineapple Express, Prince Avalanche, and HBO's Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, and currently The Righteous Gemstones, to critically-acclaimed feature films George Washington, Stronger, All The Real Girls, Joe, Manglehorn, and the box office record-breaking Halloween Trilogy. His films have premiered at Sundance, Venice Biennial, Toronto, Telluride and Tribeca. His commercial work includes campaigns for Apple Music, Nike, Google, Budweiser, and Chrysler, which landed him on TIME Magazine's “Top 25 Super Bowl Ads of All Time."
